How it works
- 1
Choose a JPG or PNG photo or signature. It is read by your browser on this device.
- 2

- 3
Resize, check the picture, then save the JPG for your form.
Files and limits
- Accepts
- JPG, JPEG, PNG
- Files
- One file
- Size
- 200 MB per file (50 MB per file on phones, tablets and low-memory computers)
Good to know
- Check your form's instructions: sizes differ between forms, and Photo and Signature are common examples.
- Crop to fill keeps the middle of the picture. Fit inside keeps all of it and adds white edges.
- The result is always a JPG. Transparent areas, as in many signature PNGs, turn white.
- Sizes pass whether a form counts a KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
- If a plain picture comes out under the form's minimum even at the best quality, empty data is added to the file to reach it. The picture doesn't change.

Questions
What size should a photo and signature for an online form be?
Whatever your form asks for. Many recruitment and exam forms want a JPG photo of 200 × 230 pixels between 20 and 50 KB, and a signature of 140 × 60 pixels between 10 and 20 KB, which is what Photo and Signature fill in. If your form says something else, type its numbers.
My form gives the size in centimetres. What do I enter?
Pixels depend on the resolution. If the form also gives one, such as 200 DPI, multiply each side in centimetres by the DPI and divide by 2.54: 3.5 cm at 200 DPI is 276 pixels. If it gives only a KB range, choose "Keep its shape" and enter the range.
Why does the file have empty data in it?
A plain picture, such as a signature on white paper, can be smaller than a form's minimum even at the best JPG quality. Rather than spoil it, the tool adds empty data to the file until it reaches the minimum, and tells you when it did. The picture looks exactly the same.
Does it change my original photo?
No. You get a new JPG to save; the photo you chose stays as it is.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does the work on this device, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Nothing is sent to a server.
